The Hackney Made Collective may be many things in one, but the focus is clear: sustainability and quality.
Sample sales, workshops and a steady stream of new, small, sustainable brands promoting their pieces… The Hackney Made Collective (THMC) was launched in November last year by two mothers with sustainable brands who wanted to try and create something positive and collaborative for small worthy businesses. Found in Middlesex Road near Liverpool Street and Spitalfields Market, it’s a sustainable concept store. There are allocated selling areas as well as areas dedicated for workshops and private events.
At its heart, though, THMC is a community more than anything else. What that means is that those behind the products and brands can meet their customers and form a relationship with them, building their businesses on secure and ethical terms. Here, artists and brand founders respect and support each other, promoting sustainability and excellent work. The gallery and first floor area are for out of hours events, and open for the makers to use to hold launches or sales.
