A new retrospective at the Design Museum is dedicated to Amy Winehouse, 10 years after her death.
Amy: Beyond the Stage, celebrates one of the most iconic musicians of our time with a collection of previously unseen personal pieces: photographs, notebooks and handwritten confessional lyrics, alongside recordings of her unmistakable voice, graffitied street signs and an eclectic showcase of outfits.
Her impact on the fashion world is reflected in the array of designers she collaborated with and those who’ve paid homage to her work, from Fred Perry to Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld.
Follow the rise of this brilliant and vulnerable London-based legend who recorded her first demo aged 16, and explore her love of music and influences which range from jazz, Motown and sixties pop to RnB and Mark Ronson.
Discover the story behind Amy’s controversial career and the creative process behind her globally applauded work.
A hand-painted mural has been created on Camden High Street to mark the launch of the exhibition and pay tribute to the young star, lost too soon; watch the making of it here.
Amy: Beyond the Stage will run until 10 April 2022.
