Here at Lawfully Chic we are eagerly anticipating a unique Fashion Gallery this evening, showcasing the collections of 10 of the hottest up-and-coming British luxury fashion brands. Guests will sip cocktails created by Gilpins Gin and nibble on divine Love Rosie cupcakes as they browse menswear and womenswear collections at the event, hosted by Mishcon de Reya at Summit House.
Here’s the lowdown on those involved:
Alona: London-based designer Alona Shelemy fell in love with the world of jewellery at an early age. Her line uses a range of mixed metals with diverse finishes, drawing inspiration from her middle-eastern and European background.
Elvis & Kresse: We have our eye on a few of these stunning life-style accessories created by re-engineering seemingly useless wastes. The innovative ‘Fire-hose’ range is made from genuine decommissioned British fire brigade hoses, with 50% of profits going to the Fire Fighters Charity.
The Fold: Contemporary designer label The Fold embraces the needs of the high-flying, modern woman. Creative directors Polly McMaster and Cheryl Mainland and designer Anna Mason aim to ensure that customers feel inspired and confident in their collection, whether it be for an important interview, business trip, conference or social occasion.
Foxhall: This modern British menswear brand was founded by designer Martin Franklin, and aims to equip “professionally urban” men for the pleasures and pursuits of London life. Based in Covent Garden, Foxhall designs tailored clothes which focus on a clean, lean silhouette.
Hemyca: Female design duo Helen Clinch and Myra Nigris met while studying at the London College of Fashion and have developed a female clothing line that is functional but elegant and timeless. We love their new AW13 collection.
Lily and Lionel: Founded by London College of Fashion graduate Alice Stone, this boutique brand comprises a gorgeous selection of scarves and leather accessories. They are the current “must have” accessory, with a fan base that includes supermodels Elle Macpherson, AlekWek and Edie Campbell.
Lucas Hugh: Founded by designer Anjhe Mules, Lucas Hugh is the label of choice for women who like to mix sport with design. Strong, figure-enhancing lines balance with an artistic sensibility for a signature look that positions Lucas Hugh athletic wear in the high fashion arena.
Otis Batterbee: Inspired by his family’s rich history in design and fashion, Otis trained at Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design and founded his eponymous label in 2008. The range of smart travel accessories takes you through the airport and beyond.
Private White VC: This unique British menswear brand makes their luxury garments in their own Manchester factory using regionally sourced British fabrics and materials. Headed by former banker James Eden with creative direction from head designer Nick Ashley, this is a sure-fire win for the men.
Vivien Sheriff: This award-winning luxury headwear brand has been catapulted into the international arena with many of milliner Vivien’s designs being sported at the Royal Wedding. Her collections have developed their own famed distinctive style.
