Pop-up premiere

Pop-up premiere

Work has begun on the transformation of Holborn’s Summit House into a luxury ‘pop-up’ platform for tonight’s highly anticipated Fashion Gallery, organised by Lawfully Chic and Mishcon de Reya.

The annual event this year showcases the collections of 11 exciting British luxury fashion brands. In yesterday’s blog (click here), we introduced our womenswear brands, Hemyca, Rous Iland, Pinghe and The Fold, so today we take a closer look at other brands participating in the gallery: Vivien Sheriff, Rachel Galley, Lily and Lionel, Alice Made This, Marwood, Cherchbi and Rachel Vosper.

Vivien Sheriff 2

Vivien Sheriff’s millinery creations

Women’s accessories are well covered this year, with Fashion Gallery regulars Vivien Sheriff and Lily and Lionel being joined by jewellery designer Rachel Galley. Vivien Sheriff’s English heritage millinery is now at the forefront of British headwear design, with her creations being snapped up by the Duchess of Cambridge and Pippa Middleton among others. Similarly, Lily and Lionel’s beautiful printed scarves have been spotted on everyone from Elle Macpherson to Nicole Richie. With Mother’s Day looming, this could be a good chance for get into your mothers’ good books.

Rachel Galley, tipped for success as one of Walpole’s Brands of Tomorrow 2013, brings us contemporary jewellery and we can’t wait to try on one of her signature latticework pieces. We also love her Venom gold cuff which you may have spied on Tess Daly’s wrist during this last season of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

Alice Made This

Men’s accessories come into their own at this year’s event, with brands Alice Made This and Marwood showing their collections. Alice’s cufflinks, made with a range of processes from precision turned metal through to engineered ceramics, bring an air of sophistication to any suit while Marwood’s range of ties, pocket squares, scarves and socks is British craftsmanship at its finest. Marwood’s debut collection of traditional English lace ties launched in 2011, and is now stocked in Liberty and on Mr Porter as well as its own online shop.

We also have our eye on one of Cherchbi’s bags, which come in a range of materials including leather, wool tweed and cotton/linen. Although they are billed as men’s accessories, we think women will love these items as well, particularly the classic Library tote bag and the range of laptop and tablet sleeves.

Finally, Rachel Vosper’s fragrant candles make the perfect gift. Handmade in London by a team of highly skilled artisans, each candle is unique and produced using the finest European sourced ingredients, including natural beeswax to allow for a longer and more even burn. Rachel has more than 16 years’ experience in the candle making industry, and her unique collection is ever changing throughout the season with new designs and scents frequently being added.

So tonight looks set to be a storming shopping success. And we can’t wait to taste the trio of cocktails being served up by Black Cow, including their famous Black Cow martini created by Mark Hix’s mixologist. Cheers, everyone!
