Choose (even more) love this Christmas

Choose (even more) love this Christmas

As most of us prepare for a relaxing festive break, the 82 million refugees and displaced people around the world continue their daily struggle to survive in some of the harshest conditions imaginable. Confirming that the need for support has never been greater, the brilliant Choose Love organisation continues to make it easy for us all to help, with their Christmas pop-up store now in full swing.

The fifth instalment of this world-first shop is open until 24 December, selling essential supplies and much-needed services that will be distributed to Choose Love’s 150 partner organisations working on the ground across Europe, Middle East and the US – Mexico Border.

Those who can’t make it down to the pop-up store can buy via the online store, with heartfelt gifts including:

  • A warm blanket & sleeping bag (£20) for those staying in freezing refugee camps this winter.
  • The New start for a Child Bundle (£80) equips children with essentials and skills for the future through education, play activities and warm clothes.
  • The Afghanistan bundle (£120) provides safe spaces, food, clothes, family reunion services and mental health support for those at risk, especially women.

Then there’s the exclusive bright and colorful Lakwena X Choose Love merchandise range (£20 – £65) which will be available for only three months and includes T-shirts, sweatshirts, baby grows and tote bags.

For those who are able to give even more this Christmas, you can ‘buy the store’ for £550. From rescue boats and hot meals, to helping people rebuild their lives in a new country, this gift will support people at every stage of their journey.

Choose Love co-founder and CEO Josie Naughton explains: “With record-high numbers of forcibly displaced people in 2021, we need shoppers more than ever to come down and visit our Christmas store. From a hot meal to mental health support, everyone can help rebuild the life of a refugee this year.”

Impressively comprehensive impact is the result of Choose Love’s work. In just five years, they’ve provided over one million people with everything from lifesaving search and rescue boats, to food and legal advice.

The store at 3 Carnaby Street is open during the following times:

  • 10am – 7pm:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
  • 10am – 8pm: Thursday
  • 11am – 6pm: Sunday

Choose Love does whatever it takes to identify, close and prevent gaps in services and protections for refugees and displaced people. They elevate the voices and visibility of refugees, while funding agile grassroots and community organisations providing vital support along global migration routes.
