Those entrepreneurial designers at emerging British design label Hemyca are utilising their talents for a worthy cause. Helen Clinch and Myra Nigris, have just teamed up with Age UK to create a limited-edition handbag for autumn / winter 2011.

Priced at £15, all of the net profits from every purchase go towards Age UK’s work to help older people across the country. The velvet handbag with flower detail is available in two jewel shades – sapphire blue and ruby red – and is a great Christmas present for friends and family.
Helen and Myra met during their studies at the London College of Fashion and founded their Hemyca label in 2006. Since the launch, they have showcased their ready-to-wear collections for six seasons at London and Paris Fashion Week, and we have spotted their creations on a host of celebrities including Cheryl Cole, The Saturdays, Pixie Lott, Lisa Snowdon, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Sally Hawkins.
Hemyca also won this season’s Fashion Press Week competition to find the UK’s brightest and most directional fashion brand: see A Passion for Fashion and Tipped for Success.
The Hemyca handbag will be available in over 200 Age UK stores from September 2011. To find your nearest store visit www.ageuk.org.uk
