Margherita Barbagallo is a Canadian qualified lawyer and part of the Art Law team at Mishcon de Reya. In Canada, Margherita practised as a litigator, with experience appearing before a number of courts, including the Ontario Court of Appeal. Margherita holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art History from Concordia University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, where she served as Editor-in-Chief for the Ottawa Law Review. She then moved to London to obtain a Master of Science in Art, Law and Business from Christie’s Education, accredited though the University of Glasgow. Margherita is passionate about all legal aspects relating to art, cultural property and luxury assets. She has written on the risks of art-secured lending and managing artist’s estates.
