Most of our blogs on eco-conscious clothing and accessories focus on the treatment of the workers involved in the manufacturing and production process or the use of environmentally friendly materials. But we also love to see a fashion brand involved in the charitable investment of profits.
Fetch Eyewear is a pioneering independent company that integrates fashion, philanthropy and animal rescue under one frame. Launched in Oregon in 2004, Fetch began selling online in 2006 and is founded on the belief that buying things you need should also enable you to support the things you love. It donates 100% of its profits to the Pixie Project, a Portland-based non-profit organisation which partners with county shelters to give animals a second chance at a lifelong home and proper care.
Because they’re independently owned, they are also able to their eyewear affordable by working directly with manufacturers and suppliers, and then selling frames, reading glasses, prescription glasses and sunglasses directly to customers and through independently-owned optical shops.
